In fact the Port Informer is the first and main link between the vessels at roads and the shore. Watch is kept on VHF canals 12/16, while the operating canal is 09.
The Port Informer co-ordinates a computerised record of the Port traffic and is expected to start a computerised system shortly to gather / process / record and distribute information about vessels arriving/sailing/operating in the Port of Ravenna. Customers will then be able to obtain the above information and statistic records directly via internet.
Services:
Working hours: 06.00 a.m. to 10.00 p.m. daily, including Sundays/Holidays. Services performed: registration of arrival/departure times of vessels, advice of vessels entering/leaving port, co-ordination of clearance formalities/boat services for vessels at roads, maintain VHF contact with vessels at roads by passing/receiving messages to/from the Master, co-ordinate with Masters / Agents liberty boat services, delivery of stores, materials etc. Also co-ordinate boat for gas-free inspections.
